◆後援委員会に期待された役割
The Committee of Patronage was formed with the tactical function of providing the authority of High Art to the new Biennale.
The members of the Working Committee, who selected from the send-in, were attuned to this stratum of taste without scepticism or reserve. It cannot be said that the Biennale was started without the greatest regard for the artists themselves, but it can be thought that the artists themselves were opportunistic and inflexible.
