Control Engineering
The control engineering is an indispensable academic discipline for operating machineries such as robots, automobiles, and airplanes. Control raws, which correspond to judgements/commands by/from our brain, are mathematically derived and implemented on computers. Like the brain processes the sensate information, extracting and transmitting the information are the major factors to determine the controlling performance.
Integration of machines and information
The information theory established within the telecommunications sector does not adapt to the control engineering that involves real-time signal processing and feedback to the information source. We are trying to integrate the information theory and control engineering by extending the concept of entropy which is the fundamental quantity of information. Further, by introducing the information theory, we can mathematically derive the theoretical limitation and optimum control raw such as for noise tolerance of control systems. Our research aims to enhance the configuration of control systems to adapt to the progress of information technology such as networking machine systems.
