Division of Hematology
Our division has been providing comprehensive care for the wide range of hematological disorders. Since our first successful allogeneic bone marrow transplant in 1983, our leading-edge strategies for autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has cured many patients with a wide variety of hematological malignancies and other life-threatening hematological disorders. Also, we have been engaged in the investigational treatments, such as HLA-mismatched hematopoietic stem cell transplant and “Mini-transplant” with promising results.
Division of Diabetes, Metabolism and Endocrinology
The Diabetes Unit at Yamaguchi University is one of the oldest and finest clinical and academic centers dedicated to the patient care and treatment of diabetes mellitus and its complications. We also have good reputation for our basic diabetes research based on the clinical background. The Endocrine and Metabolism division provides care for patients with hormonal and metabolic disorders such as thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, parathyoid diseases, dyslipidemia and osteoporosis.
Division of Clinical Immunology
The Division offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinical services for patients with infectious and autoimmune diseases. Especially, we provide comprehensive, up to date care for all persons living with HIV. We also provide information and consultation regarding HIV infection to doctors, other health care providers, and communities.
