The Career Development Center (CDC) at Yamaguchi University Hospital consists of five divisions: Intern and Specialist; Community Medicine; Gender Equality; Co-medical; and Clinical Skill-up Center. Its mission is to cultivate general medical specialists (doctors, nurses, and other medical staff) who are capable of providing the best possible personal and community healthcare within Yamaguchi Prefecture. Other key roles the CDC is expected to play include the production and maintenance of an attractive training plan and the management of an online matching system between medical students and relevant medical institutions within Yamaguchi Prefecture. The CDC maintains clinical and educational responsibility and the promotion of highly specialized resources as its core tenets in order to both meet societal expectations as to what a medical care center in Yamaguchi Prefecture should be and to cope with the increasing internationalization of medical care.
