Department of Radiological Technology in Yamaguchi University Hospital is consisted of the following divisions;
Diagnostic division
General radiography, fluoroscopy, angiography, X-ray CT, and MRI
In the diagnostic division, various imaging modalities are used for the radiological diagnosis. All of the X-ray images are digitally created by the CR system and FPD detector system. Vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology using catheter technique is also performed in the angiographic division.
Whole body including the cardiovascular system is scanned using a revolutionally dual-source X-ray CT apparatus. High performance 3 tesla MRI scanner provides high resolution images and functional MRI examination.
Nuclear Medicine
SPECT image and scintigram are used for the detection of primary and metastatic tumor lesions.
Functional imaging such as blood flow analysis of the brain, lung and heart is also utilized.
Radiotherapy
Special irradiation technique of stereotactic radiotherapy, real-time tumor tracking radiotherapy and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) are used for the treatment of malignant tumor as well as the standard factional irradiation. Intracavitary irradiation and interstitial irradiation are also performed using 192Ir source.
Radiation Control division
Radioactive source and protection of radiation exposure of the medical workers are controlled.
